The sites listed and annotated below constitute only a small sampling of the dozens of web sites offering homework assistance, tutoring, interactive activities, and supplemental information.

AAA Math - This site contains hundreds of pages of basic math skills with explanations and interactive practice on each page.

A+ Math - This web site was developed to help students improve their math skills interactively.  It includes a game room, worksheets and a homework helper as well as other activities.

ActDen - Math activities for 9-12 students, use "guest" for login and password.

AIMS Practice Tests - On-line practice tests provided by the Arizona Department of Education.  Login as "Guest" to take a test.

Algebra - Complete glossary of algebraic terms, definitions, rules,  and properties.

Algebra Help - Resource for students and parents with lessons and various algebra calculators.

Algebra Homework Help - Algebra and math homework online. Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II. Numerous solvers with Work shown. 
Links to great algebra lessons. Interactive solvers for algebra word problems. Ask questions on the question board.

Algebra 1: Graphing Linear Equations - This Internet project provides an understanding in the graphing of linear equations at the algebra 1 level. There are illustrated, interactive lessons covering the basic concepts that range from plotting ordered pairs to solving systems of equations. A pop-up scientific calculator is available at the site. The Plotter can plot functions, differentials and integrals, including trigonometric functions. This site is useful for algebra, trigonometry or calculus homework. Shockwave is required.

AllExperts - A free question and answer service.   Pick a category and click on a volunteer's name to ask a question.

An Introduction to Complex Numbers - A tutorial on complex numbers with examples of problem solving procedures.

Apex Learning - Comprehensive lessons in introductory algebra, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry.  Interactive lessons provide self paced instruction that meets the individual needs of each student.  This is a fee for service site.  A home subscription allows parents and students unlimited access to a single account.   Subscription costs are: $59.95 for a full year, $19.95 for 3 months.

Ask Dr. Math - A question and answer service for K-12 math students and teachers.

Ask Mr. Calculus - Help with math questions for subjects up to and including calculus.

Awesome Library - This site organizes the Web with 14,000 carefully reviewed resources,  including the top 5 percent in education.  Resources for students, parents and teachers.

Basic TI-82 Tutorial - Includes tutorials and interactive exercises.

Beginning Algebra - Beginning algebra tutorials will help students who need review or are being introduced to topics related to fractions, real numbers, algebraic expressions, graphing equations, exponents, and polynomials. While the tutorials are written for undergraduates, high school students will be able to benefit from the concepts. Each topic has objectives, examples, and practice problems. Reinforced throughout the site is the idea that math skills, like musical or athletic skills, rely on practice.

Class Zone - Algebra 1 - This McDougal Littell site provides web support for the Santa Rita High School Algebra 1 textbook.  Need a little extra help? Want a problem solving challenge? Conic Sections - Illustrations of and general information about the equations and properties of conic sections.

Conic Sections Mathlet  - Applet allows user to manipulate variables to change orientation and dimesions of the various conic sections.

Conjectures in Geometry - Provides a wide variety of activities utilizing computer software.

Cool Math - Gateway  to math puzzles, games, with lessons in algebra, geometry, trigonometry and other math topics.  The goal of this site is to make math fun.

Do Math - This site is dedicated to helping students and families explore the beauty and utility of mathematics.  On this site you will find grade level specific mathematical activities that students can do with their families and on their own.

E-Math - A guide to e-mail based volunteer programs designed to help students master challenging mathematics, science and technology.

Exercises in Math Readiness - A collection of exercises from high school math topics that seem to be most important for university study in mathematics, other sciences, and engineering. There are several problems complete with hints and solutions from a variety of math topics.

Exploring Fractions with Shapes - An interactive work area for building and exploring tessellations.

Favorite Mathematical Constants - Some mathematical constants are familiar to most secondary math students, for example, the Golden Mean and the growth rate of the Fibonacci sequence. This site provides access to lesser-known constants that will intrigue the inquisitive advanced math student. This site introduces the student to over 100 constants, each constant with a written description, formulas, and references for further reading. Some provide illustrations to assist the viewer.

GCSE Maths Revision Site - While this site is aimed at the United Kingdom math levels, the review notes are just as helpful if you are in the US or any other country. This is a great math review site for high school students, with topics ranging from decimals and fractions to quadratic equations, intercept theorem, and histograms. Each topic has a short description, an example, and illustrations if applicable. 

The Geometry Center - This University of Minnesota site supports math and computer science research, mathematical visualization, software development, application development, video animation production, and K-16 math education.

Glossary of Mathematical Mistakes, The - This site provides an interesting and informative look at the ways advertisers, the media, and public institutions "get the math wrong." Users will find a detailed glossary of math mistakes and a special section of fifteen puzzles and problems related to algebra, arithmetic, and geometry (answers provided).

Graphics Calculators - Calculator programs and utilities.

Graphics for the Calculus Classroom - Advanced high school math students will benefit from this set of graphics commonly used in Calculus classes. They require Java to view the animation of differentials, secants and tangents, number e, and the intersection of two cylinders. Being able to see these examples in motion will help many students grasp the concepts being taught in class.
High School Student Guide to Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards - Download a student guide in PDF format.

History of Mathematics - Information by subject, region, or timeline. Site also includes reference to related online and print resources.

Homework Help - Algebra - A list of sites offering Algebra homework help.

HOT Math! -HOT represents Higher Order Thinking. Activities for middle and high school students are presented on topics including angles, symmetry, scale drawing, balance algebra, tables, combinations, statistics, probability, reasoning, finding rules and formulas, and problem solving.

The Integrator - Calculus students can enter any function to find the integral.

Interactive Algebra - Tutorials in solving equations and inequalities, factoring, and graphing are provided. Choose a skill to practice and show a problem, try solving it on paper first and if hints are needed, you can request one and sometimes two hints before the answer is shown. The problems are generated at random so you can practice as many times as you like with unique problems. This site requires Java.

Interactive Mathematics - This site is a series of interactive mathematics examples for high school students explaining ideas from algebra to calculus. It employs the LiveMath plug-in (free to download at the site) to allow interactivity with graphs, matrices, and calculus. The application of math to real life is also useful, relating graphing to economic trends, parabolas to bouncing balls and logarithms to the world population explosion.

Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles - This is an especially good site for those who feel they 'hate math' or can't be any good at it.  It has a very good essay on the fear of math so many people seem to have and provides games and puzzles dealing with arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and probability. Another great feature is the CTK Exchange for questions and answers.

International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) - The IMO is an annual mathematics competition for high school students. The problems come from various areas of mathematics, such as are included in math curricula at secondary schools. The solution of these problems, however, requires exceptional mathematical ability and excellent mathematical knowledge on the part of the contestants.

Interactive Mathematics Online - This mathematics site has tutorials in Algebra and Trigonometry and a very extensive section about Geometry. It also includes a lot of information about programming with Java, Chaos Theory, and fractal generation (Mandelbrot and Julia sets). There is even some software for creating stereograms, those three dimensional pictures that can only be seen inside your brain.

JPD's Mathematics Toolbox - This site offers a number of interactive mathematics tools.

Linear Equation Solver -    Linear Equation Solver is an interactive site allowing one to enter the coefficients of a system of three equations with three unknowns and an applet will solve it.

MacTutor History of Mathematics archive - This archive has concise biographies for more than
1400 mathematicians, and many articles on the history of mathematics.

Manipula Math with Java - Here you will find interactive programs that you can manipulate and a lot of animation that helps you to grasp the meaning of mathematical ideas.

Marmalade Man's Fantastic Math Tips - Multiplication and squaring tips such as the rule of nines.

Math2.org - (Formerly Dave's Math Tables) Math reference tables with an interactive area in both English and Spanish.  Can be downloaded.

Math Anxiety  - A great article by noted author Marilyn Curtain-Phillips on the causes and prevention of math anxiety.

Math Careers - The Mathematical Association of America introduces you to some men and women who use mathematics every day and others who rely on the general problem-solving skills acquired in their mathematics courses. You'll meet software engineers, an environmental mathematician, and a marine research associate, who helps determine quotas on commercial fishing to avoid exploitation.

Math Class - Offers online tutoring for basic math, algebra, geometry and more.

math.com - This site offers homework help, practice problems, games and calculator help.

Mathematics LF Software - Mathematics instructors and students can read descriptions of programs teaching basic math, algebra and trigonometry. Download for free.

Math Forum: K-12 Problems, Puzzles, Tips and Tricks - The title says it all.

Math Homework Help - Definitions, properties and practice problems for pre algebra through calculus.  Great  site.  Fee for use.

Math League - The Math League is dedicated to bringing challenging mathematics materials to students. The Math League specializes in math contests, books, and computer software designed to stimulate interest and confidence in mathematics for students from the 4th grade through high school.  Contest problems are designed to cover a range of mathematical knowledge for each grade level. All of the problems on each contest require no additional knowledge of mathematics beyond the tested grade level.

MathMagic on the Web - Is a K-12 telecommunications project developed to provide strong motivation for students to use computer technology while increasing problem solving strategies and communications skills. MathMagic posts challenges in each of four categories (k-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12) to trigger each registered team to pair up with another team and engage in a problem solving dialog. When an agreement has been reached, one solution is posted for every pair.

Math Maniac's Home Page - A site that offers weekly problems and solutions as well as a few links to resources on tessellations and other resources.

Math Nerds - These mathematicians are proud to assist students learn how to think about math. If you ask them a question, you won’t get a direct answer to the problem…that is up to you to figure out. Their goal is to guide students in using their own minds in figuring out a problem. Try the archives before submitting a question because it is possible your question has already been answered.

Math On Line - Contains a solution section, quizzes, study tips, help for using a calculator, and more.

Maths Online - Maths Online is a gallery consisting of interactive multimedia learning units (Java applets) on various topics and some graphical supplements.  It is primarily designed for Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus students at the secondary level.

MathPages - Number Theory, Combinatorics, Geometry, Algebra, Calculus and Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, and Set Theory.

Math World -  Bibliographic dictionary of almost 10,000 mathematical terms. Material ranges from undergraduate to research level.

Mathematics Foundation of America - The purpose of MFOA is to ensure that the mathematically talented high school student receives mathematics education appropriate for a future mathematician by providing suitable summer programs and mentors.

Mathematics with Alice - This site is for anyone who is interested in Mathematics, or is interested in learning more about Mathematics, but find the style of Mathematics textbooks too dry. If you want some fun while learning Mathematics, this is the site for you!

Mrs. Glosser's Math Goodies - Interactive math lessons use a problem-solving approach and actively engage students in the learning process.  Teaches mathematical concepts while keeping student interest and attention.  Also offers homework help, message boards, puzzles, calculators, and much more.

Online Math Tutor - Free online math tutor to help with your math homework.

Online Quizzes - Interactive quizzes in many areas including whole numbers, percents, proportions, exponents, rationals, polynomials and much more.

Platonic Realms Home Page - This site delivers fresh math humor, quotes, historical notes, and mathematical challenges every day. We are currently working on expanding the database behind each of these features, so that visitors will experience as little repetition as possible. It's PRIME Math Encyclopedia is approaching 1,000 entries, with two dozen extended articles, and is growing fast with the help of associate editors from university math departments around the world. The Interactive Quotes Database is now fully data-driven, allowing searches by author, topic, and key-phrase. It's MiniTexts on such diverse topics as Math Anxiety and the Art of M.C. Escher have received world-wide recognition.

Purple Math - Use the algebra modules to walk through more than fifty topics, including graphing, polynomials, slope, factoring, and word problems. Written by a university math instructor, the examples and illustrations are clear and concise. There are some homework guidelines that any math student will benefit from, no matter what level. Try the Math Study Skills Self-Survey to see how your own study skills rate. Once you complete the survey, a tabulation is posted with recommendations for study habits.

Quadratic Equation Solver - Quadratic Equation Solver is an interactive site that solves any quadratic equation by using the equation coefficients.

Quick Math - QuickMath is an automated service for answering common math problems. Using a computer program, this site allows you to enter algebraic equations and inequalities to find factors, simplify, solve, plot and graph the results. You can choose a random expression to practice the skills for basic problems and advanced options. In addition to algebra functions, you can practice with differential and integral calculus problems and use matrices. Be sure to do your own work first before checking your answers here!

Web Math - This site is equipped with an online "math engine" that can instantly provide a step by step solution to many different kinds of math problems.

Word Problems For Kids - A set of carefully selected problems which can help improve problem solving skills.  If the problem is a little difficult you can get helpful hints by following the hints link.
