GREETINGS SANTA RITA EAGLES!

Santa Rita High School is an excellent school with an outstanding student body and faculty.  Our school has received numerous awards for academic and program excellence.  There is a rich diversity of students and a host of programs in various areas that provide excellent quality and choices for our students.  The faculty and staff are committed to provide students outstanding educational opportunities.

Our faculty and staff are very experienced and provide an excellent education to our students.  Many faculty are involved in furthering their own education and in receiving training in their respective areas.  The central focus of our teachers is teaching and learning.  There is also an emphasis to meet the diverse needs of our student population. Our Site Council is well organized and stays up to date with many of our activities at school.  Research has proven that a strong parent support program improves achievement and the morale of a school.

The Course Description Handbook provides you with information regarding the courses offered and subject content at Santa Rita.  Use the handbook as a guide to create a schedule of classes.  It is very important that you make wise decisions regarding the content of your schedule. It is our goal at Santa Rita High School that every student pursue a rigorous curriculum.  We expect students to graduate with twenty-four credits.  During your pursuit of excellence if you fall behind or find that you are not truly prepared for the next level of a course, summer school is a recommended option to support your success.

After reviewing the handbook, I encourage you and your parents to carefully consider the direction of your course of studies, review your short and long-range goals and plan your course schedule.  Feel free to call on your counselor for advice and guidance.  The registration process is a very important time because it allows students to plan, have input into and contemplate your academic progress in school.  You should take every advantage of these opportunities.

I also want to encourage you to get involved in your school's academic and extracurricular activities.  Students who get involved and participate have demonstrated better grade point averages, show better attendance records, feel better about school, contribute to greater school spirit and have fewer discipline problems.

I wish you the best and hope you have an excellent year.  GO EAGLES!
