007 News WWW Edition - This newsletter attempts to combine two things --mathematics and humour. The articles range from the very serious and informative to the witty and (hopefully) hilarious. The ultimate goal of the newsletter is to bring you some enjoyment in mathematics that you might not be able to get anywhere else.

American Mathematical Society - Exhaustive compilation of research, news, and online publications for math teachers.

Arizona Standards - Mathematics Standards - Rationale behind and detailed explanation of the six standards used to measure math achievement: number sense; data analysis and probability; patterns; algebra and functions; geometry; measurement and discrete math; and mathematical structure and logicThese are not the AIMS descriptors and standards.

Blue Web'n Applications Mathematics Lesson Plans - Lessons that use the internet to gather data.

Bookmarks for K-12 Math Educators -  A sampling of bookmarks for K-12 Math Teachers.

BoxerMath.com - Comprehensive lessons in introductory algebra, intermediate algebra, and trigonometry.  Interactive lessons provide self paced instruction that meets the individual needs of each student.  This is a fee for service site.  A home subscription allows parents and students unlimited access to a single account.   Subscription costs are: $59.95 for a full year, $19.95 for 3 months.  Schools should call Boxer Learning at 800.736.2824 for a subscription.  A school subscription allows access to BOXERmath.COM from any computer in your school.

Cornell Digital Library Mathematics Collection - The Cornell University Math Collection consists of 571 books that were scanned from originals held by the Cornell University Library.  All books disbound and all pages scanned. The Collection is indexed by Author and Title.

Do Math - This site is dedicated to helping students and families explore the beauty and utility of mathematics.  On this site you will find grade level-specific mathematical activities that students can do with their families and on their own.

Education Index - Annotated guide to education related sites sorted by subject and life stage.

Electronic Library of Mathematics -  The Electronic Library of Mathematics contains online journals, article collections, and monographs in the field of mathematics. All material is in electronic form and access is free.

E-Math - A guide to e-mail based volunteer programs designed to help students master challenging mathematics, science and technology.

Eric Weisstein's World of Mathematics -  Bibliographic dictionary of almost 10,000 mathematical terms. Material ranges from undergraduate to research level.

ENC Online - The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science Education (ENC)  provide K-12 teachers with a central source of information on mathematics and science curriculum materials

Erathosthenes Measures Earth's Circumference - Lesson plan.

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence - A Web site sponsored by the Federal Government in conjunction with many partner agencies devoted to bringing free educational materials to educators and students.

Galaxy: Mathematics - Galaxy was the first Internet Search Directory online. Each of the listings has been reviewed by an actual human before inclusion.

GEM - The Gateway to Educational Materials - The US Dept. of Education describes this page as the key to one-stop, any-stop access to high quality lesson plans, curriculum units and other education resources on the Internet.

The Geometry Center - This University of Minnesota center supports math and computer science research, mathematical visualization, software development, application development, video animation production, and K-16 math education.

Graphing Calculator Guide - Developed by the teachers attending a 1997 CESME summer workshop, this guide contains a collection of lessons integrating graphing calculators into the math curriculum for grades 7-12. Topics include transforming graphs, solving linear inequalities, using statistical data, investigating slope, and constructing trigonometric concepts. The site also provides an activity guide with basic calculator concepts as well as calculator lab activities packet. Acrobat Reader (free software) will be needed in order to view and/or print these materials from your computer.

Great Sites for Math Teachers - Links to numerous math sites.

History of Mathematics - Information by subject, region, or timeline. Site also includes reference to related online and print resources.

Illuminations - This site is designed to "illuminate" the new NCTM Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.

Instructional Materials in Mathematics -  Links to sites with hundreds of lesson plans and teaching strategies for math teachers.

Interactive Mathematics Miscellany and Puzzles - Numerous math puzzles and interactive activities. A lot of math information for teachers, students and parents.

International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) - The IMO is an annual mathematics competition for high school students. The problems come from various areas of mathematics, such as are included in math curricula at secondary schools. The solution of these problems, however, requires exceptional
 mathematical ability and excellent mathematical knowledge on the part of the contestants.

Internet Mathematics Library - Database of math and math education resources that can be searched by topic, resource type, and level.

Junior/Intermediate Mathematics - This site was designed to help teachers incorporate the Internet in their Junior or Intermediate mathematics classrooms.

MacTutor History of Mathematics archive - This archive has concise biographies for more than 1400 mathematicians, and many articles on the history of mathematics.

Math Archives - Comprehensive listing of Internet sites which contain significant collections of materials which can be used in the teaching of mathematics at the K-12 level.

Math Archives - Geometry - Internet sites which contain significant collections of materials which can be used in the teaching of Geometry.

Math Central - Index - Site offers a chat board, resource room, and bulletin board.  Teachers are encouraged to send notes, ideas, lesson plans or any other resource having to do with the teaching of mathematics.

Math Connections - A Secondary Mathematics Core Curriculum for grades 9-12 designed to open the concepts of higher mathematics to all students.

Math Lessons Database - This database contains only lessons that use the Internet in some way.  It can be searched by content area, level, or keyword.

Math Lesson Plans and Activities - Links to various lesson plan sites and activities.

Math Links - This list of mathematics resources is broken into several faster to load pages. A search option is available to locate other resources.

Math Matters-Understand and Prevent Math Anxiety - The goal of Math Matters is to help students develop a solid math foundation and prevent math anxiety.

Mathematics Archives WWW Server - Materials available on the Mathematics Archives are classified into five main categories: teaching materials, software, WWW links organized by mathematical topics, searchable database.

Mathematics Foundation of America - The purpose of MFOA is to ensure that the mathematically talented high school student receives mathematics education appropriate for a future mathematician by providing suitable summer programs and mentors.

Mathematics Lesson Plans - The Columbia Education Center Mathematics Lesson Plans  site contains over 50 math lesson plans divided into K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 grade levels.

Mathematics Teacher - The Mathematics Teacher online is presented as a sample of the materials available to subscribers to the printed version of the Mathematics Teacher (MT). NCTM does not publish the complete text of the MT on the Internet. Nor does NCTM represent this site as a clearinghouse for research or articles.

Mathematics WWW Virtual library - This FSU site has an extensive listing and is well worth the time needed to investigate many of them.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics - NCTM is the largest nonprofit professional association of mathematics educators in the world.  The mission of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is to provide the vision and the leadership necessary to improve the learning of mathematics by all students; to promote excellence in the teaching of mathematics by all teachers; and to serve as an advocate for mathematics education.

Online Exercises System - Interactive tutorials for calculus, statistics, probability and algebra.

Pathways to School Improvement - A wealth of educational resources in math and science from the North Central Regional Education Lab.

PBS Teacher Source - Lesson plans, activities and other resources.

S.O.S. Mathematics - Algebra - Learning units are presented in worksheet format and require active participation.

School Express - Free worksheets for all subject areas.  Math worksheets are basic arithmetic.

Science and Math Initiatives (SAMI) - Provides teacher resources, math resources, classroom resources and other assistance.

Stock Market Math - Lesson includes various concepts used when trading on the stock market.

Study Skills and Test Taking Strategies - Tips and suggestions on how to develop or improve effective study skills and test taking strategies.

TeachersFirst - TeachersFirst is a free, one stop site, created by the Network for Instructional TV Inc, which contains internet resources for the classroom, sorted by subject and grade level.  Also included are discussion groups, professional resources, and a "Hot Topics" section.

Teachers Helping Teachers - The purpose of this site is to provide inexperienced teaches basic teaching tips and ideas that can be immediately implemented into the classroom; to provide new ideas in teaching methodologies for all teachers and to provide a forum for experienced teachers to share their expertise and tips with colleagues around the world.

The Teacher's Internet Use Guide - Includes a lesson bank.

Teacher's Net  - This site describes itself as the ultimate teacher resource.  It provides a chatroom, resources, lesson plans and much more.

Teachnet.Com - Designed for K-12 teachers, this site provides a collection of lesson planning resources including Lessons Ideas for the various subject areas. The site also offers brainstorming ideas, micro activities, classroom management strategies in the How-To section, and a free email newsletter for sharing and exchanging strategies and ideas.

Technology for the Math Classroom - Technology for the Math Classroom offers sample lessons for integrating technology, computers, and the Internet in secondary classrooms.

TI Basic Programming - Access tutorials to help learn programming on TI graphing calculators,   browse information and reference material useful to programmers, find out what emulators are available to simulate a TI calculator on a computer and help you program more easily.

TI Classroom Activities - Texas Instruments (TI) provides a searchable collection of math lessons and activities contributed by teachers using TI instructional calculators in grades 6-12.
